Welcome

Hello and welcome to the Kansas Kiwanis District Website.

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.

In the Kansas District there are 89 clubs that make a difference in their communities and especially children. Children are priority one in all Kiwanis clubs. Our hope is to dedicate ourselves to help children be a better persons, become leaders and learn about service.

Kiwanis International is unmatched in programs offering opportunities for young people to grow in leadership skills, experience the joy of serving others and learn more about themselves, their communities and the world. Clubs in the Kansas District support K-Kids clubs (for elementary students), Builders clubs (for middle school students), Key clubs (for high school students), Circle K clubs (for students in college) and Aktion clubs (for adults with disabilities).

Our clubs support other worthy projects in their communities as well as the new Victory Junction Camp that will be built in the Kansas City Kansas area. This is a state wide project and Kansas has committed to build a cabin to house some of the Victory Junction participants.

Because Kiwanis is an International organization we support the Eliminate Project. This worldwide project partners Kiwanis with Unicef to work to eliminate neonatal tetanus around the world.

Contact a Kiwanis club near you to get involved in your community and to serve children.

Message from the District Governor

BRAD SCHIELDS
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Even though it is not the new year for Kiwanis it is the new year for us to start talking Kiwanis. Get excited about telling your Kiwanis story to others and tell about the worldwide project of ELIMINATE or at the District level our Victory Junction Cabin that we are building. The holidays are over and it is time to think of your service projects either new ideas or the ones that have always worked. Then work on that membership drive for your club to offer more hands and more service. Remember that our goal for the year was to end your Kiwanis year with one more member than what you started with. Not asking much but if we all do that it will make an impact for the District. Also think about starting that new Service Leadership Program at one of your schools to get those young people involved in service and leadership.

Brand yourself with Kiwanis logos. Place some important dates on your calendars. Circle K DCON in Manhattan March 2-4, Kiwanis Mid Year in Garden City March 9-10 with International President Alan Penn and Key Club DCON March 17-19 in Wichita. Plus don’t forget the First Lady Challenge for all Kiwanis members to donate to the Victory Junction. Her Challenge is $1 per month per member and that includes the K-Family. Let’s make it a great year in Kiwanis!

What if you could save a baby's life?

With The Eliminate Project, you can. Maternal and neonatal tetanus (MNT) kills one baby every nine minutes. But three doses of a 60-cent vaccine can protect mothers and babies. Kiwanis and UNICEF have joined forces to bring this vaccine to 38 countries, eliminating MNT from the face of the Earth. What can you do right now? Learn about MNT and advocate for the cause. Participate in our fundraisers. Over the next few years, the work we do will change the world. Find out more at www.TheEliminateProject.org.
